VT Engineering Inc is excited to be part of the design team of a new Medical Imaging Center is being built in downtown Calgary Alberta which includes an MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammogram, as well as many testing laborites, offices, and other patient care areas. The existing building was very old with no existing electrical drawings or information. An electrical assessment had to be performed on the two large 4000A-480V-3PH services to determine if sufficient electrical capacity existed to power all the critical medical equipment. The whole project area was designed to be compliant with CSA Z32:21 “Electrical safety and essential electrical systems in health care facilities” to ensure personal safety throughout. All laboratory areas were design to be flexible to permit various configurations, adjustable furniture layouts, and changing equipment.
